About the company
Michael Morgenstern has over 30 years experience in the elevator industry. While employed at Otis Elevator, Michael learned the elevator maintenance side of the industry. His statistical analysis of elevator maintenance performance based on call-back ratios is the same methodology used by most elevator service companies today.

Michael’s responsibilities changed when he joined ThyssenKrupp Elevator, the second largest elevator company in the world. He quickly expanded from a Sales Consultant to Sales Manager. He effectively navigated the company’s pricing structure, product specifications, tendering process, dispute resolution and contract negotiation, all of which formed the basis of his knowledge of the elevator industry.

Robert Twilt began his elevator career within the manufacturing sector of the elevator industry over 35 years ago. The foundation of Robert’s expertise lies in how the quality of each individual component plays a key role in the integrity of the final installation of the elevator system.

Following his transition to the field sector of the industry, Robert excelled quickly, demonstrating leadership in various positions including: Maintenance Technician, Troubleshooter, Service Adjuster, Foreman, Field Supervisor, Service Manager and finally District Manager of Toronto with North America’s largest elevator company.

Rob began his career with Schindler Elevator Corporation over 30 years ago in the field as a technician. Rob’s skills in the field made him a valuable asset in new construction with his understanding of elevator controls.

Rob expanded his elevator career by joining Fujitec Canada and held various sales and marketing positions over the next 4 years, rising up to Branch Manager and Director of Sales and Marketing. His skills in project management and sales were noticed by ThyssenKrupp and he joined the company to lead the Toronto organization in Modernization and New Construction sales. The Team of sales professionals Rob brought together was one of the most successful groups in all of ThyssenKrupp North America.

Rob’s knowledge of the elevator industry, developing community, general contracting and architectural firms coupled with his in-depth understanding of complete project management compliment National Elevator’s strong technical and operational strengths.

Derek Twilt is a TSSA certified EDM-A licensed elevator mechanic. Prior to joining the National team, Derek installed, serviced, and maintained elevators for 7 years. This experience in the field allows Derek to confidently provide valuable insight and expertise on any vertical transportation device or project. Since joining National Elevator Consulting, Derek has provided elevating device consulting services for over one hundred clients across Canada; ranging between new construction projects, modernization projects, technical elevator audits, and insurance claims. Derek’s professionalism, technical expertise, and customer service has contributed to the continued growth and success of National Elevator Consulting Ltd.
Manny began his career as an apprentice with Turnbull Elevator in 1957. Manny honed his craft to become a foreman in charge of escalator installations. To broaden his elevator knowledge, Manny moved to Otis Elevator where he served as an installer, trouble shooter, adjuster and field supervisor. Manny was recruited by Western Elevator where he spent several years as a maintenance supervisor. Manny retired from the field where he was adjusting elevators in downtown Toronto high-rise commercial buildings. With over sixty years in the elevator business, all of us at National Elevator Consulting feel very fortunate to have such a seasoned pro on our team.
